After four years of the > OKRESKY book series, we decided to redesign this famous collection.
The goal was to evolve the original concept—a book that fits into a car's glove box—into a book that readers will proudly display in their library.

The first major change is a hardcover, with the color scheme of each edition representing its uniqueness. The iconic cover illustration remains,
now featured on a paper repack.
The size (20 x 25 cm), chapter structure, and book length (300 pages), as well as the concept of five days/chapters highlighted with distinct colors throughout the book, are retained from the original series.

To immerse readers in the road trip experience, traditional page numbers were replaced with kilometer markers (e.g., 1306 km) corresponding to photographs and their locations. This system provides a clear overview of the total distance covered during the journey.

The paper has been slightly updated while maintaining its essence from the previous version. The enhanced color style emphasizes the photographic aesthetics of the author. The book incorporates two types of paper: Munken Print White for the main text block and Munken Print Cream, ideal for achieving a soft yellowed, washed-out effect reminiscent of a newspaper. This complements the more relaxed, documentary-style design of chapters like Backstage. Each book includes a bookmark with QR codes linked to GPS tracks.

I also adapted this new design for a special edition of Okresky, created in collaboration with the automobile company Audi Slovakia. For this edition, I designed a 200-page book containing seven chapters, each showcasing a different one-day trip within Slovakia and a corresponding Audi car model..
